When families become part of the community at Toronto Montessori Schools (TMS), they enter into an important partnership. Partnerships are successful when they share a common purpose, a valued commitment and an opportunity to be involved in the decision-making process.  Parents play an active role within the School and their actions have a strong impact on the success of their children and TMS as a whole.   The parent helps the child to make the most his or her educational experience by working in concert with the teachers who are experienced, committed and compassionate. We, both TMS faculty and parents, are responsible for working together in order for each child to reach their full potential.

Our aim at TMS is to guide and nurture the development of each student. Studies have shown that a student’s academic devotion and confidence is stronger when parents take on an active role at their child’s school. Parents help their child by volunteering with class or school events and initiatives that focus on students to build and strengthen the TMS experience which ultimately makes TMS better for each student. Modeling active participation within our community teaches students how to participate in an adult world and enforces a strong belief that education is powerful and worth investing in.

 

We hope every parent will become involved within the TMS community and foster trust in our partnership.  Your involvement can be demonstrated in different ways at TMS. You may volunteer your energy, expertise, and time with the TMS Parent Network, join an advisory committee of the TMS Board, attend social events, or make financial donations to TMS. By volunteering for class or school events and initiatives that focus on the students and adults, volunteers will build and strengthen our School which ultimately makes TMS an even better place for our community.

 

We look forward to enjoying a trusted partnership with every family in the TMS community as we work together to make each student’s educational journey a successful experience.
